Gourdans St Clements invites you to enjoy our carefully selected range of speciality steaks, matured in house served with Belgian frites, complimented with a range of house sauces.
Established and serving Steak Frites since 2015 locally in Oxford and around the UK, our expanded menu offers well sourced produce to create classic dishes inspired by our love of food. Daily baked bread and day boat fish from the south coast, can be enjoyed with a variety of plant-based plates of European influence, prepared on hot coals to provide a subtle and distinctive flavour. Our small but punchy wine list has a great selection encompassing some great old-world makers as well as showcasing some that are far less known, all served by the glass, so you don’t have to buy a whole bottle to try them.
Presented in a warm and inviting environment to provide a unique, comfortable dining experience.

Thank you so much for such a lovely meal. This was without doubt the best steak I’ve ever had. Amazing service in a beautiful atmosphere. I honestly can’t wait to come back.
We had an excellent evening at Gourdans, the food, service and atmosphere was all perfect. We had the charcuterie board to start and picked out some cheeses and meats where were all delicious. For main course we had shared the cote de boeuf, cooked perfectly and was a great pice of meat. The steak was beautifully caramelised on the out side and to our preference perfectly pink on the inside. The steak came with a very generous portion of chips for us both.All in all an excellent evening at Gourdans and would definitely recommend , thank you!
Can’t recommend them enough, salsa Verde and peppercorn sauce is a winner winner steaky dinner!! 5 stars from me
We had an amazing evening at Gourdans. The menu is incredible – it was genuinely impossible for us to choose so we went for the very friendly and welcoming staff’s recommendations which were perfect. They had great knowledge, beautiful ingredients and the atmosphere was really lovely. The chef cooked the côte de beef beautifully – there was a lovely smokey charring on the outside and then perfect pink juicy steak on the inside-heavenly! The sauces (including amazing chicken butter) the side of a pull of raclette and the cheese and charcuterie were also completely delicious. We will be back again very soon but this time with friends!
Well what an experience, this place is amazing, funky decor with a coverted Renault van for the bar area. To start we shared the Charcuterie board which was more than enough for 2 adults and a 10 year old. We all had a Grande Sirloin Steak which was cooked perfectly with a selection of sources as we couldn’t decide, we can”t wait to come back and try the Côte de Boeuf (as that was sold out when we visited). My 10 year old gave it the thumbs up so we’ll be defintetly coming back. The French wine was pretty good too considering my preference is NZ. Wish I’d taken pictures!
